Cricket Pasta

Cricket Pasta shop

Cricket Pasta is something you cannot find anywhere else: a superfood containing 20% cricket flour. This unique innovation is part of the fast growing market of food products based on edible insects. The pasta features an exceptional series of nutrition values, including high levels of protein, calcium, iron, vitamin B12 and Omega 3, due to the characteristic of the cricket flour.

Bugsolutely Cricket Pasta is the result of extensive research with multiple manufacturers. It’s a mix of durum semolina flour, wheat flour, and cricket flour sourced from selected suppliers. Thanks to the cricket flour, the pasta’s distinctive brown color (see our photo gallery) matches the typical earthy taste which is often associated with roasted almonds. The product is now readily available as fusilli, in a 350 gr (12.3 Oz) sealed package.

Cricket Pasta is a good food for you, but also for the environment. Crickets need very little food and water (1,000 time less than a cow). For this reason United Nation’s FAO and other International organizations are supporting the diffusion of edible insects in western countries (insects are already part of the human diet in Asia, South America and Africa). In brief, insects are the protein of the future, according to experts.

Oh, and according to our customers and a number of chefs, it is also really tasty!

micheleCricket Pasta has excellent nutritional properties, greater than traditional dry pasta. It has about 45% more protein, and all the 9 essential amino acids needed by the human body. Carbohydrates are fewer and there is a higher amount of fiber. This helps to have a lower glycemic load as well as other beneficial properties of the fibers.
It is a source of many crucial nutrients, such as essential fatty acids Omega 3 and 6, Vitamin B12, Vitamin C, Iron, Calcium and Potassium. This unique combination of dietary benefits makes Cricket Pasta a remarkably nutritious product.
